Well, this episode does a fine job of moving these along when it comes to Elsa's own machinations as a villain general in her own right when her and Zeltrax are once again up to no good when Mesagog is mysteriously absent again...hmmmmm... Elsa puts down Zeltrax and his continued failure by telling him she has a plan of her own.  Meanwhile, Tommy is preparing to take his science class on an archaeological dig...where even Principal Randall is all dressed up to join them.  Yeah, weird.....O_o  At the site, Tommy finds a fossil while Principal Randell seemingly starts to flirt with him.  Oh my!!! *Sulu Voice* O_O Of course, Cassidy is being an irritating brat by spotting them together while Devin is once again making sense and trying to talk her out of her usual dumb hijinks.  Honestly, at this point, I don't even get why Devin puts up with Cassidy as friend, let alone a cameraman.  She's vapid, idiotic and bossy when clearly Devin is hanging around her cause he likes....ohhhhhhhh....got it! ;)  Meanwhile, Ethan calls over Kira and Conner when he discovers a new Dino Egg which may be housing a new dino zord within it.   As Kira calls over Tommy and Tommy briefs them on what the egg could be and what they need to do with it, Principal Randell can't help but be so noisy and want to hold it briefly.....Jesus, the way she's looking at it and holding it, I'm surprised she didn't turn into Gollum! Yikes! O_O  Suddenly,. a squad of Tyrannodrones attack and the 3 teens get to work fighting them off while Tommy tries to lead Principal Randell to safety.

Gotta love the over the top fight choreography here! O_o  With using Principal Randell like a weapon to fight off the Tyrannodrones as well as spinning her up in the air for a few seconds only to catch her seconds later after performing a quick fighting combo on the foot soldiers.  Power Rangers, people! WTF?? o_O Anyway, Principal manages to throw Tommy the egg and keep it safe from the Tyrannodrones before they retreat.  Back at the Dino Lab, Tommy and the others try to investigate the new Dino Egg but they aren't getting any readings from it.  Tommy soon finds out that the energy reading is still going from the dig site they were attacked and decides to go back there to find out.  Too bad the egg they have was just a decoy as Principal Randell goes back to where she hid the real egg as she transforms into....ELSA!!! o_O Omg!!! I had completely no ide....yeah, it's pretty obvious they were the same person and how the hell aren't Tommy and the other rangers figuring this out by now when she's soooo obviously evil!! O_o

Anyway, during his search, Tommy gets side tracked by Zeltrax again and his random, personal animosity toward him while Elsa awakens the Dimetro Zord from within the egg and orders it to attack the city. Connor, Ethan and Kira morph into action and summon their zords to battle the Dimetro Zord but the thing is even too powerful for the three zords to handle before digging it's way into the ground. As Tommy and Zeltrax's fight come to a close, Zletrax is teleported back to Mesagog's castle where Mesagog has summoned him and he ain't happy brah! After putting the fear of God in him because of him fighting for his beloved Elsa (Yeah, what's that about too? O_o), he tells him to summon a monster to finish off the rangers now that the Dimetro Zord has owned the the rangers' zords in battle.  As the rangers recover from the Dimetro Zord damaging their zords, Scorpex soon rises to finish them off.  With no choice, the rangers combine their zords to form the Thundersaurus Megazord but every one of the megazord's attacks countered effortlessly by Scorpex.  Tommy realizes the only way for the rangers to win is by gaining control of the Dimetro Zord cause of the powerful saw on it's back.  While Tommy tries to gain control...the rangers continue to get their asses collectively owned until Tommy some how finally gets the zord under control.  So are the Dino Gems able to give them the power to tame other zords outside their own zords??? O_o Anyway, with the Dimetro Zord on their side, they use it as a new attachment arm on the Thundersaurus; giving it enough power to slice through Scorpex's attacks and destroy him once and for all.  While Mesagog plans to punish his generals, Zletrax hilariously takes ownership of their failure as Else also hilariously agrees.  Mesagog also tells Else to continue to get close to Tommy as he relationship with him will lead to the demise of the others. Also, this episode sees Trent bonding with his father but once again, trying to find out what's been going with him and his past as the invisi-portal makes him more wonderous of what his father could be hiding.....  All and All, "Beneath The Surface" is a good episode that shows Elsa's humanity, as the last scene shows she may have feelings for Tommy...hmmmm....interesting.  The introduction of the Dimetro Zord was fine but not as memorable as other zord intros but the plot is subtly moving with Trent and Anton's very cold disposition toward him and the others, which is keeping me more than invested in the show since the first 5 episodes! :)
