Season 12, Episode 7: Game On

So this is definitely our first completely filler type of episode with a singular plot that's only restricted to this episode. While it's nice to have an episode finally focused on Ethan, they don't really do much with the plot that doesn't really make for the best plan in the long run when you think of it.  So while Ethan is trying to beat some online geek game called Wizardwood, Mesagog gets the plan to divide and conquer by sending out Zeltrax and the Tyrannodrones to keep Tommy, Kira and Conner busy while he sends a new monster, Demagnetron, after Ethan to...trap him inside his own video game.....??? O_o  All things considered, he could have just got the monster to attack Ethan, overwhelm him in a solo battle and then capture to force Tommy and the other rangers to sacrifice their dino gems in exchange for Ethan's life....BUT this is Power Rangers after all and it wouldn't be Power Rangers if a ranger or two didn't get trapped in some book, video game, alternate dimension, etc.  So while Tommy and the other handle Zeltrax and his goons, Ethan lands into his game and runs into Beldorf....one of the game's characters....cause....funny???  Oh and if I HAVE to mention it, Cassidy and Devin accidentally get trapped inside the game as well and oh boy, Cassidy is trying to be Queen Guinevere for the school play and can't help but talk in a stupid British accent for most of the episode...great! At least we get to see her fall face first into a tub of mud! Yay! :)

So we keep following Ethan who follows Beldorf to his place....before getting attack by weird looking creatures called Triptoids.  While Ethan does his best to fight them off, Tommy realizes Zeltrax's random attack was just a diversion and tells them to go check on Ethan.  Good thinking Tommy! ;) But as soon as they get to Hayley's, they run into Demagnetron, who they fight while Ethan is getting seriously outnumbered by the Triptoids.  Luckily, Kira decides to go inside Hayley's and find him while Connor deals with Demagnetron in the meantime....but gets trapped in the game as well.  Literally landing next to Ethan, the two reunite and fight off the Triptoids but it isn't until Kira mentions if Ethan tried to morph, I'm like "Wow." -_- They both do and manage to combine forces against the creatures while Connor's fight with Demagnetron takes him inside of Hayley's Cyberspace...where he some how frees everyone as he is shocked to see Ethan and Kira back; fighting off the Triptoids.  After Kira tells Conner to morph and meet them outside, the rangers force both the monster and the Triptoids to retreat.  Oh and some how Beldorf is in the real world now too.  Gotta love how he makes Tommy's mouth literally disappear with his magic, lol.

After Elsa mentiones to Mesagog a new plan to spare her life quickly, Demagnetron is back in the city causing havoc while Tommy tells Ethan and Kira to stay behind while he and Connor take care of him.  But the monster is too much for them, leaving Ethan and Kira to join them in the fight.  After destroying the monster with their Z-Rex Blaster, Mesagog makes him grow with the Re-generator as the rangers call on their zords for help.  After forming the Thundersaurus Megazord, the rangers manage to use various attacks as well as the T-Rex Drill finisher to destroy him once and all.  Meanwhile, Mesagog is ready to punish Zeltrax something fierce but uses his acquisition of the Triptoids to his army as a way to spare his life.  Good thinking??? O_o  Oh and Devin and Cassidy make it out of the game finally at the very end.  I mean...did you HAVE to bring them back....really??? -_-  Anyway, "Game On" was pretty entertaining but filler episode none the less...oh besides the writers deciding to use the Sentai foot soldiers all of sudden.  Great! lol
