Episode 22
Air Date: July 5th, 2003

One thing I really enjoyed about this episode was how it handled two underdogs of the opposing sides: Dustin and Marah.  Dustin, so far, has been shown to be very irresponsible, lacking focus in things other than motorcross which affects his ranger duties....not to mention, his utter negligence when it comes to be serious.  Not only has it been very well written by the writers this season, but effortlessly conveyed by Dustin's actor, Glenn McMillan.  He just has the right kind of charm and innocence to make Dustin work so well and here, we find that Dustin has some great qualities but sense of naivety makes him prone to make the wrong decisions, gullible and overly trusting in this case. He gives his motorcross bike to some stranger who says he'll fix it for him and it turns out...he gives Dustin a fake address and the other rangers use it as the time to point out his character flaws.  Dustin may mean well, but he can't always trust people so easily and should have better judgement.  Something he thinks about but quickly brushes off as the other rangers tease him for it.

Then you have Marah, who is being made to be a complete outcast by Lother and the other generals...which is weird because Kapri is just as useless and incompetent but whatever, let's just focus on Marah then! O_o  After introducing one of her own monsters/best friends, Beevil (YES! :P)  She gets humiliated by Lother and them by being thrown off the ship; leaving her vulnerable and hopeless.  Until she decides to go to Dustin for help and see if he can help switch sides!! Of course, this is where each side of the story collides and we get to see Dustin once again choosing to see the best in Marah after she reveals herself to him.  I got to admit, it's kinda cute seeing them together all sad and looking for trust and validation from the other.  Sigh...I could use that right about now...:( Anyway, Marah gives Dustin a device to give the rangers' more power to defeart Beevil and of course, when Dustin goes to the others about, they know it's a trap despite Dustin honorably defending her.  Soon Beevil, Lothor's generals and an army of Kelzacks attack; leaving the rangers to quickly morph and stop them...but not before Dustin puts Marah's device into the Ninja Ops database....uhhh ohhh! O_o

So as the rangers fight Beevil and company, Marah makes a very dramatic entrance to confront Beevil but gets her ass royally handed to her.  As Dustin adds her and takes on Beevil, Marah decides to reveal that she was STILL on Lothor's side all along as the device not only gives her more power but Beevil as well.  A very disappointed and betrayed Dustin...sigh....poor Dustin, doesn't take this well at all forcing the other rangers to yell at her for doing that to him before Beevil continues the fight and Dustin in a fit of anger destroys her.  After Beevil grows, the rangers use their zords to destroy her for good and Marah returns to the ship gaining the respect of her uncle and co....but seems to have actually had feelings for Dustin before firing an energy blast at Kapri...ha! :)  Anyway, as Dustin is putting himself down, the other rangers decide to cheer him up and commend him for having such a noble quality about him.  And it even turns out, that guy actually DID fix his bike as he returns it to Dustin and apologizes for giving him the wrong address.  Awwww....but still....! O_o lol  This episode also introduced the Kelzack Furies, red versions of the foot soldiers that are more invulnerable than their regular forms which is cool but kind of gets wasted as a one off in this episode.  Honestly, I really liked this episode and how Dustin got some development but learned a hard lesson about trusting people too easily.

Final Morph: C+
