Season 11, Episode 33: General Deception, Part 1

"General Deception, Part 1"
Episode 33
Air Date: October 3rd, 2003

Well, I'm glad that this episode sort of address the recent problem with the overabundance of generals Lothor has on his crew now.  Isn't it funny how Lothor has all this fire power and assembly of space warriors but they have proven to be even more useless as their numbers have grown??? O_o  I mean, the whole generals meeting at the beginning of the episode was all about being Lothor's main and most trusted right hand man as Zurgane and Vexacus in particular get into about how they will be first to destroy the rangers this time while the other is thrown out by Lothor.  I guess this would be considered the villain infighting this season but considering that most, if not ALL, the villains have sucked this season, it's kind of too late for this kind of storyline.  I mean we were teased a little a bit on Vexacus coming up with his own machinations against the other generals as well as Lothor in "Double Edged Blake" but still, it just comes out of no where here.  Vexaus has been the most promising new general since Zurgane earlier this season but has done little next to nothing after the two parter "Shane's Karma".  Which REALLY sucks considering how badass his initial entry to the season was.  Also, if any general sucks the most and needs to be thrown out.destroyed, it's Choobo...seriously, I almost forgot he was still there actually! Wow! O_O Anyway, Zurgane puts his plan into motion after giving Lothor's remote thing an upgrade.

Meanwhile, the rangers, besides Tori and Cam, are preparing to go camping....but bring all this electronic stuff like a TV, generator, labtop, etc. as they consider it "roughing it"! Right! lol  While Tori gives them a ride and Dustin gets all thought provoking about the sky, the rangers bump into a woman desperately trying to get their attention as the rangers quickly stop to help her try to save her friend who is desperately hanging off a cliff.  As Blake goes down to help her with the help of the other rangers getting some rope and holding it, it turns out the whole thing was a clever trap set by Zurgane as all the civilians in the area quickly turn into Kelzack Furies.  Of course, the rangers try to put up the best fight they can but one wonders why they don't just morph immediately since they know the Kelzack Furies are too strong for them to handle in morphed form, let alone civilian mode.  Huh?? O_o Anyway, after Blake narrowly saves himself from falling to death, he rejoins the other rangers who morph and take care of Zurgane and the Kelzacks before Shane finishes them off with his battlizer.  After Zurgane and the Kelzacks retreat, the rangers head back to the camp site where....the set a freaking entertainment system area while Tori is in continued disbelief of the guys "roughing it".  No kidding Tor!  After getting the boys all muddy and dirty when they try to get her van off and running, Zurgane returns to the spaceship to almost blow Lothor's head of (Dammit! So close Zurgane!) to tell him he is about to form the next phase of his plan after failing Lothor...again.  Turns out is another badass looking megazord that he plans to unleash on the rangers as well as using some CD-Rom (Oh boy!) to steal their megazords' powers.

After Tori treats the boys after getting them all dirty, Vexacus and Shimazu soon arrive to spoil their plans and begin yet another battle with the rangers.  The two generals actually put up a very impressive fight and own all 5 rangers until Cam arrives unexpectedly to warn the other rangers of a bigger threat on the horizon when suddenly Zurgane's rises up in his massive megazord to face off against the rangers.  All 6 rangers immediately ninja streak into their 6 separate zords in a quick but awesome sequence before calling all on their zords to form each of their three megazords.  As the Storm, Thunder and Samurai Star Megazord battle Zurgane's megazord, Vexacus and Shimazu just watch as Vexacus just plans to take care of Zurgane once the rangers are done with him or if the rangers get destroyed, he'll take the credit. Ha! Nice! But as the rangers realize their 3 megazords are no match for Zurgane as he uses his disc to slowly steal enough power from the rangers' zords to finish them off quickly as the episode concludes.  So far, so good!  Lots of nice action and initiative from the generals this episodes by at least trying to think ahead and outsmarting not only the rangers but their rival general.  Let's hope Part 2 doesn't let up! :)
