Season 11, Episode 38: Storm Before The Calm, Part 2
"Storm Before The Calm, Part 2"
Episode 36
Air Date: November 15th, 2003
So...let me get this straight!!! The Scroll of Destiny was missing a piece of it like Cam noticed but Lothor disregards this since it's his destiny to takeover the world, right??? Turns out as we learn from Sensei Watonabe, who for some reason is brought back to his human....because! -_- But the funnier thing is, the Sensei had the missing piece all along, which foretold of the chosen Wind Rangers being there to face off against Lothor but...wait for it...NOT who would win!!! :) .....So what the hell is Lothor going on about knowing that he would win in the end when there was even a piece missing from the Scroll of Destiny and doesn't even specify he would win!?? O_O So you're telling me this idiot said he would win without even knowing he would win for sure??!! Lothor and these villains are officially the worst group of enemies a team of rangers have ever faced. Divatox and the crerw; including Elgar, are officially bumped down to second place! My word! If there is anything that bothered me about the finale, it was this stupid revelation that the writers didn't even think about but maybe I'm missing something??? O_o
Anyway, turns out Blake and Hunter are alive and made it out the Thunder Megazord safely as they return to the destroyed Ninja Ops (but one wonders why they didn't try to let the others know they were safe??? O_o The hell) Anyway, with Cam captured and the rangers seriously outnumbered, Blake and Hunter decide to go back up to Lothor's ship to once again try to release all the captured ninja students while the rest of the team stays behind to protect the Earth from Lothor's final plan. As Blake and Hunter head into space with the Dragonforce Vehicle, Lothor continues to witness the Abyss of Evil begin to open and rumbling the city of Blue Bay Harbor. Yeah, apparently, it's no coincidence that the Ninja Academy was set up at Blue Bay Harbor since the school was established to be the border/protection between the world of good and evil...or something??? O_o Just go with it! Meanwhile, Choobo (Seriously, how is it of ALL the generals, Choobo is the one who made it in the end??? The dumbest and most useless of them all too!) Whatever, Choobo sets Lothor's spaceship on self-destruct while Lothor forces his nieces to stay and die because he's done with them following his plan. Damn! o_o I know their completely buffoons but they are family you know, you jerk! :P Meanwhile, Blake and Hunter make it onto the ship to begin finding the captured students as the Wind Rangers head to the Abyss of Evil to face off against Lothor himself.
While battling some Kelzacks preparing for Lothor's arrival, Lothor rises from the ground is a very massive and badass looking megazord. The rangers quickly call on their zords and form the Storm Megazord; but they are no match for Lothor's megazord is it relentlessly beat the crap out of the Storm Megazord. Meanwhile, Blake and Hunter free Cam...as well as Kapri and Marah...who he calls "family". Yeah..about that....how they related to Lothor again??? Who the hell are their parents?? Did Watonabe brothers have an evil sister too??? Ehhhhhh!!! Anyway, Choobo and an army of Kelzacks quickly intercept them and battle on the ship begins. Back on Earth, before Lothor is able to finish off the Wind Rangers, they manage to use a final move that begins to destroy his megazord...but not before Lothor holds on and both megazords are destroyed because of it! Luckily, Tori, Dustin and Shane make it out safely but they too late to stop the Abyss of Evil from opening and bringing back every monster and general they faced all season. Lothor soon reveals he made it as well and the final battle commences in epic fashion. Honestly, this is just impressive and huge from a technical standpoint, seeing the original 3 fight off an army of monsters...well at least try as they are clearly overwhelmed and overpowered by the swarms of them. But thanks to Marah of all people, the Thunder Rangers and Cam are able to free the captured students in time to escape Lothor's ship before it explodes to make it back to help the others just in time. Man, this sequence is like "Endgame"-level assembling of all the heroes as Blake leads all the ninja students against Lothor's army of monsters while Shane summons his battlizer to wipe them all out as well. So many awesome fights from each individual ranger against Lothor's forces and it's just badass seeing this all happen before your eyes in such a cinematic presentation.
But their victory doesn't last as Lothor destroys Shane's Battlizer instantly and recovers as the 5 rangers face off against Lothor. Once again, amazing fight choreography as Lothor not only shows how powerful he is but that his ninja skills are beyond even 5 rangers in morphed form! Damn! O_O After capturing all their powers with the Samurai Amulet, Cam arrives to get his powers back but Lothor begins to attack him as well. Even without their powers, all 6 rangers continue to face off against Lothor in a stunning fight scene but still, the veteran ninjas are still no match for Lothor. As Lothor prepares to destroy them, Shane, Tori and Dustin remember that even without their ranger powers as Lothor taunts them, they still have ninja powers. They soon summon their individual powers of air, earth and water to send Lothor hurling into the Abyss of Evil where it closes for good. With Lothor gone, the 6 rangers can now graduate their Ninja Academy and go off into the sunset to chose their own destinies after their ranger duties. Luckily, Hunter will be the head teacher of the Thunder Ninja Academy, Blake will be heading out to have his own racing career while Sensei and Cam usher in the next generation of ninjas entering the Ninja Academy....oh and those three random teens earlier are joining too....wow...more on that next season! ;) Of course, Marah and Kapri are still dumb but now reformed and will be attending Ninja school too. Awesome! -_- But as for Tori, Shane and Dustin...??? They'll be having their hands full as the new teachers of the Wind Ninja Academy as they all celebrate their new duties in life and the new found freedom that comes from their ultimate victory as rangers and especially ninjas. Overall, "Storm Before the Calm" was an excellent ender to the season despite by issues and glaring plot holes with Lothor's plan. Now I must collect my thoughts for my overview! Stay Tuned! ;)
