Season 12, Episode 10: Ocean Alert

Ummm...so this episode...yeah....it was bad....REALLY BAD!!! o_o  I just don't understand the randomness of this whole plot and how it's so stupid as well as pointless in the end.  Just an episode feeling like all the characters; both villains and heroes, just meandering about some....some self absorb and tacky looking TV superstar who is filming her show in Reefside.  I guess I can understand Ethan and especially Connor being starstruck and attracted to her...but it's almost so over the top that it seems like they are under a spell or something everytime she is around.  I mean, to the point where they try to get her attention while they are morph and you know...saving the world!  It's like...huh??? I mean if they were put under a spell to be distracted, even infatuated with...Nikki Valentine (Cause they had to give her the most generic celebrity name! -_-), then I'd understand while they are so head over heels with her despite in their middle of their duties as Power Rangers.  All I can think is teenage hormones but WHATEVER!!! o_o Moving on!

Also, Mesagog's plan this episode makes no sense as well.  Honestly, his dumbest plan yet by wanting Zeltrax to create a monster (Megalador) so it can kidnap Nikki and use her to further his evil or something??? O_o I mean come on! i get she's stupid, self centered and vapid beyond reason, actually pushing Tommy away because of her damaged nails after he just saved her from a monster -_- but I highly doubt she's some sacred material he can use to do more evil.  I mean...Huh???? Moving on for a second again, we get this subplot of Anton forcing the family business onto Trent who is extremely hesitant about following that avenue in life.  Of course, he can just stand his ground and tell his father he won't do it instead of sneaking around and lying to him about doing business work when he's really sketching but I guess this is one way to further their story??? I just wasn't really into their dynamic this episode as it felt really brushed off to the backside for more idiocy of the main plot.

Oh and there's yet another Dino Egg that is being tracked then discovered by the rangers.  Luckily, Hayley manages to find it and give it to the rangers after Megalador knocks them out of their zords...literally! O_o  And it's a...Stegozord...which the rangers can use to....surf on as a massive tidal wave heads to Reefside and destroy Megalador with it at the same time.  You know, I thought I'd be getting use to the utter absurdity of this show/Sentai footage...but I'm just in just such disbelief...it's unreal! Wow.  Oh and Cassidy is a complete annoyance as usual while Devin is given a guest spot on Ocean Alert (Yeah, that's the name of the damn TV Show/Baywatch Parody here!) after saving Nikki's life from the monster...you know, like how Tommy saved you??? WTF??? -_-  "Ocean Alert" is a forgettable waste of time, the first for this season and the fact someone like Nikki could escape the villains so easily kind of makes them look seriously incompetent! O_o Not cool at all!
