Season 11, Episode 23: Sensei Switcharoo

"Sensei Switcharoo"
Episode 23
Air Date: July 26th, 2003

This episode was...as Sensei Watanabe puts it while in Shane's body during a megazord fight...fun! Sure there's very little plot movement after the Samurai's Journey 3 parter and it would have been nice to get some plot development when it came to Cam and his father's relationship, but what we got here wasn't bad at all as it was interesting to see various rangers play the Sensei for once.  Honestly, Pua Magasvia (R.I.P. by the way! :() and Glenn McMillan do a great job on mastering (I know) Grant McFarland's speech patterns and body language as the Sensei.  Of course, it's just also funny just hearing the actors swap voices as the Guinea Pig Sensei speaks with Shane and Dustin's voices while each actor is dubbed with McFarland's stereotypical master voice. You can tell the actors were having fun playing him and I love the continued gag with the Guinea Pig food! Lol

Also, it was great to see how masterful (again!) the Sensei is each of the ranger's bodies; able to easily fight off the Kelzacks as well as the monster of the week with such ease as he uses their various ninja abilities to combat him.  Oh and speaking of the monster of the week...sigh....FOOTZILLA....I just......-_-  I know it's the Sentai footage that's the fault of this but did the writers have to add to the absurdity of a foot monster with a horrible pun like that!!?? O_O  Oh and of course, Lother and his crew of nitwits can't help but make obnoxiously bad jokes and puns about the monster.  Oh yeah, Marah and Kapri want to earn their keep again and come up with a plan to stop the rangers and we all know by now he's gonna give them another chance, saying it's the last chance and just punish them....and then their back to making plans again and Lother just sends them out to fail once more!!! I just!!! Ehhhhhhhh!!! These villains SUCCKKKKKKKK!!! No need to go to my overreview to figure that out anymore! -_-

Anyway, the rangers manage to dispatch Footzilla (arrggghhhh!!! -_- I mean could be worse right!  It could have been Foot Org! :P) and Cam returns Sensei and Dustin to their original bodies.  But like I said this was a fun little episode despite the whole absence of a father storyline not taking a more serious tone or plot point.  I mean they could have explored Hunter and Blake's....you know....lack of parentage more by making them look for a father figure or like I said, further pushing Cam and his father's relationship into more interesting directions. But we got this and I'm fine with it the way it is.  Now can we get into less filler and more story driven arcs again??? O_o

Final Morph: B
