Season 25, Episode 19: Doom Signal
"Doom Signal"
Episode 19
Air Date: September 19, 2018
Well, it's definitely that time where the season its gearing up for an epic finale (or one we can hope is EPIC!) but we'll have to see of course. "Doom Signal" finally puts Madame Odius' final plan underway while the rangers experience their toughest fight yet (sorta! :P) and shockingly, Hayley and Calvin's relationship may have come to an end??? Gotta say, Nico Greetham and Zoe Robins actually do a wonderful job as we witness Hayley and Calvin have their first big fight and it resulting in them actually breaking up!??? O_o One of the great things about both seasons of Ninja Steel has been seeing the ups and downs of their relationship, not to mention, seeing the two grow even stronger as a couple by overcoming certain issues. It is understandable why they would both be going at it given Hayley being oversensitive when she wanted the truth from Calvin while Calvin can't believe she could get so mad at him based on something out of his control. I'm glad their friends were there to provide some pathos as well as clarity for Hayley as Sarah and her take the time to talk about the situation. It's always great to have moments of the rangers just being friends and giving each other advice when they have a dilemma and Sarah's advice proves to have a solid point that Hayley is being too hard on him considering how Calvin has grown up and changed a lot over the past two years. He can't be held accountable for something that wasn't his fault, not to mention she DID ask him for the truth which even Sarah backs up. lol It felt natural on how a real argument between a couple could escalate and draw them apart.....whether you're a ranger in the middle of a crisis or not!
Yeah, the rangers have to deal with the fact that a recent reality TV show that was holding auditions at their school was just a clever ruse to kidnap....Victor and Monty to perform like a bunch of idiots, dressed in clown suits, cause apparently the whole city with be mind controlled first thanks to the Satellite that Mick has created for her. Yes, Madame Odius plans to mind control the entire universe while also finally getting the power stars but first, the Rangers must deal with her new monster, Gorrox, who turns out to be a pretty strong villain as the rangers do their best to try and defeat him. Ultimately, Brax joins in the fight to prove himself to Odius as both are made to grow; making the rangers have to call in the Ninja Steel Megazord and Ninja Blaze Megazord. While very powerful at first, the rangers manage to destroy Gorrox but when it seem Brax won't go down as hard, they use the Ninja Blaze Ultrazord to finally put an end to him. .....yeah......these villains have been so memorable haven't they??? Who forget Brax was even still alive??? O_o *Raises hand very high*
But unfortunately, Madame Odius have already signaled to Mick to use the mind controlling satellite to begin her take over of the world as she will use the billions of humans on the Earth to make up a limitless army; powered by the power stars I'm assuming. Too bad Calvin shocking falls until the mind control as well as the rangers realize Mick is serving Madame Odius now as Red Bot tells them any human who watches Victor and Monty will fall under a deep mind controlling trance....called severely annoyed! :P Anyway, a very nice set up I think with some solid human/relationship drama between two rangers as well as a typical if not well played final plan by the villains.
Final Morph: B+
