Season 25, Episode 13: Prepare to Fail

"Prepare to Fail"
Episode 13
Air Date: September 11th, 2018

I don't know about Super Ninja Steel but outside of the first 3-4 episodes, it hasn't been enjoyable for me at all! O_O  I don't know why since it had all the ingredients to be a MUCH better season than last and I even enjoyed most of Ninja Steel despite the glaring issues that would pain long term fans.  The thing is....there isn't much of a story here overarching the season like last.  I mean last season, even tho Galvanax was an awfully forgettable villain, at least there was Brody's search for his dad and brother, the Robot Aidan arc, Mick even had a more convincing role by helping the team create power stars via the Prism and as much as fans seem to despise it, Princess Viera had purpose and even brought some major if not brief backstory for Mick as well.  There was A LOT more purpose to the fight....while Madame Odius has now done as much as Galvanax last season and there isn't really any major storyline throughout besides the villains just wanting the power stars...again! -_-  Idk....there's just too much filler and after the 25th anniversary episode, the show seems to be just meandering about in terms of plot like the very first season of MMPR.  We should be wayyyy beyond this type of storytelling now, especially one that needs to have such easily predictable, not to mention disgusting and unfunny humor with Monty farting up a storm so he and Victor don't have to take a math test! O_O  Can't believe I'm saying this but even Bulk and Skull weren't this repulsive and agonizing as the comic relief. I can't stand this two even for a second, let alone an entire episode! -_-  But whatever...moving on! *Headwall*

Anyway, the human dilemma of the episode is Sarah getting a bit too cocky in her only A+ of Part 1 of the math test that she doesn't think she needs to study for Part 2 the following day. Yes! Sarah is all about blowing off studying and seeing some B movie about of an unstoppable Train apparently!? O_O  Yeah, cause that's what the teenagers of the late 2010s want to see!??? :P  Anyway, she ends up failing despite being a genius and all that because she didn't study and guess what??? The test was so much harder than Part 1. Awwwwww, no A+ for Sarah, just a plain ole F!!! :P For once, the lesson of the day is delivered by one of the rangers' actual teachers and it would make A LOT more sense for them to actually...you know...teach one of their students who is literally bad mouthing them outside of class.  But it turns out to be more helpful than just making Sarah more prepared for harder tests in the future but conveniently, the monster of the day as well.  We are introduce to two more new villains this episode, General Tynamon and his greatest warrior, Brax....who Badonna has a thing for....for some reason! When the new general sends out Brax against the rangers, he fools them into thinking he's so weak so their guard will be down when he attacks again.

While it would have made way more sense to set up a trap the next time he faced the rangers, he makes his point across by completely defeating them in battle to where none of their weapons and attacks work on him.  So with Sarah learning her lesson and beginning to work on a new weapon for the team, the rangers are able to counter Brax next time with the Superstar Blade, which can use the Lion Fire Armor Star as a powerful boost. :)  It works out well in battle as well as the rangers coming up with a plan of attack before using the new weapon.  Always nice to see a team of rangers thinking for themselves and not just relying on a new one off weapon to help them in a fight.  Anyway, Badonna is horrified to see her love destroyed that she makes him grow...as well as summoning 4 Skullgators to help him in the fight as the rangers are too powerful for Brax with both their zords.  Luckily, the rangers are able to use the combined force of their various megazord formations to destroy all 4 Skullgators.  Oh and Sarah gets to retake the test because Ms. Finch saw how much she learned her lesson (Cause that's one way of saving you grades! :P) while the two morons are used for more horrific fart jokes.  I mean, could be so much worse, but faaarrr better! Meh!. :(
