Season 3, Episode 11: Delete

"Delete"
Episode 11
Air Date: January 28th, 2004

Now, I know what you're thinking, an episode where the cast is trying to kill Chloe for almost an hour should put a huge smile on my face right??? Well, unfortunately the sight of Chloe continuously being brought to the doorstep of death wasn't as entertaining as it seems.  Mostly because to story at hand that find her at the target of murder is pure filler; may undoubtedly be the most filler we've gotten so far this season after "Magnetic".  Not that's as bad as that meteor freak fiasco of an episode as usual, there are some moments of actual development and character progression that pushes the overall story forward.  But let's just get this rather superfluous plot out of the way first.  So it turns out of Chloe's last issued stories she posted on her column or she had her editor post under the synonym name of a cousin she has named "Lois Lane" (Hmmmm who could that be??? ;), a psycho patient from Summerholt (aka the place that Ryan was held last season) named Molly is going after Chloe who's article could potentially shut down Dr. Garner as well as Summerholt all together.  So what does she do, she steals a hard drive from one of her computers to e-mail hypnotic messages to her friends so they can attempt to kill her.  Awwww poor Chloe! Girl seems to be paying considerable for her past sins with Lionel, not to mention her excruciating overreacting when it came to Clark and Lana's relationship, being a horrible friend to both of them, etc.  Hey I said I did feel bad for her.

Honestly, the whole story borderlines heavily on boredom and the most interesting thing about it is we're once again reintroduced to Dr. Garner as after Lex takes care of Molly and her hypnotic experiments, he wants Garner to help him retrieve the past 7 weeks of lost memory because his electroshock therapy.  A harrowing cliffhanger to an ultimately forgettable as hell main plot that I always seem to sleep through everytime I re-watch this episode.  I mean honestly, the relationship between Molly and Garner is so random and underdeveloped you can't even by that she'd fall so hard for him that she'd become some techno assassin to stop anyone from endangering him and his work. EHHHHH next! O_o  Besides that, we finally get some closer on Clark and Chloe's friendship issues, tho Clark apologizing for pushing Chloe away and Chloe agreeing with that....ummmmm, Jesus, they just can't give this character a break can they??? Stop making our main hero the bad guy all the time writers!!! He's a teenager, he's learning and compared to Chloe, is a freakin' prophesied Saint come to save us all. Also, Chloe's deadly situation brings to light some issues in Lana's growing relationship with Adam.

Once again, I'm glad that the writers have Adam more real and brutally honest toward Lana's overdramatic behavior.  It's almost like the actor has walked into the wrong network and can't stand the heightened teen angst all around him. Lol  But seriously, Adam is full of some mysteries, especially able to some how outfight Lana when she's under mind control.  This of course makes Lana paranoid that she might be falling or growing close toward a guy with secrets she can't trust, but Adam quickly calls out on her unfair assumptions.  It builds a real and solid relationship between the two that feels more tangible than any male relationship that she has had so far.  Tho, I'm not to pleased with how she rights off her relationship with Clark when Adam brings him up.  Jesus, stop dogging Clark like this! -_-  Anyway! "Delete" (weird title) is a pretty decent episode with some few interesting plot progression moments even if the main plot is a bit of a snoreville! We officially get introduced to the Talon apartment, which will become a main stay of the show until its 10th and final season. :)
