Season 10, Episode 3: Click, Click, Zoom
"Click, Click, Zoom"
Episode 3
Air Date: February 13th, 2002
Well, isn't this episode just a big old information dump!!! -_- So it turns out, the reason the Orgs are coming back is because of...sigh...pollution! Yes, this is not Captain Planet but these rangers are essentially the planeteers as Master Org exposes about why the time of the Orgs has returned and even Princess Shayla goes into a long exposition about the origins of the Orgs as well as the Animarium. 3,000 years ago, humans and animals lived in peace among nature in perfect harmony until one day, the Orgs came out of the ground and began terrorizing the world. Luckily, there were 5 ancient warriors there to fight and defend the Animaria while Princess Shayla's bodyguard brought her to the sacred temple of the land for her protection and guarded by the rangers' own Wild Zords. She soon fell into a deep sleep and the 5 ancient warrior used their crystal sabers to create the Animarium, which lifted off the ground, into the sky and has been ever since. The ancient warrior eventually destroyed most of the Orgs, including Master Org and entombed the rest...but...since the world is so polluted, the Orgs are able to rise again and now Princess Shayla has awakened to lead a new team of rangers chosen by the Wild Zords to defend the Earth..... Wow, this would all be well and fine...if the damn backstory wasn't juxaposed to some child getting read the story of Animarium by his mother! -_- But oh well....
Anyway, the main plot of the episode involves Taylor at serious odds with Cole because he feels the ranger rule book, yes, the rangers have a rule book...made by Taylor, that the only rule they need is teamwork. When everyone begins to agree, Taylor takes it personal and storms off. I mean duh! Taylor's been there the longest and now some jungle idiot is telling her what the team needs as their leader??? Makes sense! As for the Org of the week, it's Camera Org...yes... Camera Org...who takes pictures of people, which turns them invisible after. Poor Taylor running into victims of the Org, decides to handle it on her own despite Cole and the other rangers warning her not to...but...she does so anyway, getting team up on by Jindrax and Toxica as well as turned invisible by the Org. Now that Taylor is all invisible, Cole feels responsible and goes after the Org himself while the rangers go after him. After he runs into the Camera Org, Cole tries to out maneuver him and pay him back for what he did to Taylor. Too bad I'm just VERY distracted by Richardo Medina, Jr.'s acting...is SOOOOO over the top....I just...I have no words!!! O_O Anyway, while the other rangers arrive to take care of the Putrids, Cole gets the idea to....jump up and knock some stuff onto the Org to knock the film out of it.....ok...O_o Cole morphs and takes the film to free the bodies the Org stole. Soon Taylor rejoins the rangers as they do their Wild Force roll call before teaming up on him.
When it looks hopeless, the Red Lion talks to Cole...again -_-...and tells him he cant give up; making him able to summon his Lion Blaster. Deus Ex Machina much??? -_- As Cole uses his random new weapon to blast the Org, the rangers summon their weapons again to form the Jungle Sword and use the Savage Slash to destroy him. But Toxica summons her peanuts to make him grow and the rangers soon summon their Wild Zords again for help. They form the Wild Force Megazord (really LOVE this megazord by the way! :) to destroy him by using the Mega Roar. After the rangers cheer, we get a typical PR resolution of Taylor finally surrendering leadership over to Cole and everyone trusting in this new team. There's also some mistrust still within Toxica about Master Org but Jindrax just brushes it off once again....hmmmmmm.... Overall, meh, not great by any means and rather mix for me. Not impressed so far this season but I'm only 3 episodes in. I know, I know! :P
