Season 10, Episode 24: Reinforcements from the Future, Part 1

"Reinforcements From The Future, Part 1"
Episode 24
Air Date: July 27th, 2002

Amit Bhaumik....this guy has gotten A LOT of flack from the fandom over the years, especially for his very contrived and needlessly expensive concept for the following season, Ninja Storm, that never transpired. It was an very interesting premise with the whole Power Rangers Civil War that would never see the light of day (and honestly, for the 30th anniversary in 5 more years, that should definitely be explored! :) but honestly, it just couldn't be done with the show's very tight budget despite pulling off episodes such as this.  "Reinforcements From the Future" are a perfect pair of episodes that every team up episode(s) should have followed the structure too from then on.  It's almost seamless how the Time Force characters and storyline are integrated into the often mishandled narrative of Wild Force to the point that Wild Force is all the better and much more enjoyable to watch because of it.  The episode opens with Taylor getting a speeding ticket from a familiar sounding and looking man who turns out to be Eric! <3<3<3  Gotta say I absolutely love seeing him and Wes back, especially Wes already giving Eric a hard time about it...more on that latter! ;)

Meanwhile, 3 hideous looking creatures....or rather 2 hideous looking creatures and Deviot's mutated form (At least they tried??? O_o) lol appear in a dark alley that night as Jindrax and Toxica are tracking them down to obviously recruit them for their own personal mission against Master Org.  But unfortunately, these 3 monsters are too powerful and will have none of Toxica and Jindrax's meddling as they literally pick them up and toss them aside.  The next day, the three creatures begin attacking Turtle Cove as the Silver Guardians arrive to stop them.  Gotta love how they show up out of no where and just confront them like they are nothing.  But soon, the 3 creatures make quick work of the Guardians, forcing Wes and Eric to morph.  Love seeing the Time Force morphs again!  But even morphed, the 3 creatures are too much for the two veteran rangers as in a more awesome display of stunt action, fight choreography and perfectly timed explosions, Eric and Wes get owned something fierce.  Luckily, the Wild Force Rangers arrive to help but soon the 3 creatures use that tracking device from earlier and disappear.  As all 7 rangers demorph, Taylor and Eric get into it; needing to be broken apart.  Love how both sides are in disagreement about what the creatures were as Wes thanks them and orders the Guardians to move up.  Sexual tension between Taylor and Eric not withstanding! ;)

As Shayla finds out about other rangers from the Wild Force team, Max makes fun of Taylor for her obvious attraction toward the Quantum Ranger.  How is it that the interaction between the Wild Force Rangers feels so much more natural and entertaining here than ALL of the season so far???  Even Max and Danny's bromance has some nice hilarious bits when Taylor and Eric share a brief but touching moment later in the episode.  Aka the writing is really strong and superbly done! :)  Anyway, when Wes and Eric contact Trip in the future (Yay Trip! :) We learn that Time Force has been tracking 3 "mutants" in the year 3001 that have some how ended up in the present.  Also, Trip tells Wes Jen was on assignment to track down the 3 mutants but Time Force loss contact with her weeks ago, forcing Wes to worry about his beloved! Awwwww. :_(  Anyway, that night, someone is tracking the "mutants" with some device that can translate what they are saying but has to leave abruptly when they are heard by them.  As Wes and Eric confront Taylor the next day and need the Wild Force Rangers help, she takes them to the Animarium where they reunite with the others and meet Princess Shayla.  Soon Trip contacts them again and tells them that "mutants" they've been tracking aren't just mutants but half-Org as well.  Classified as "Mut-Orgs", Trip tells everyone what he know so far and will go to someone who can help and give them more answers.  In the year 3001, we see Katie and Lucas visit Nadira as they ask her for her help.  They soon go to the Cryo-Prison where the guards bring her to Ransik. As father and daughter reunite, the other 3 Time Force Rangers arrive too.

Meanwhile, as Wes and Cole bond over there being other rangers out there besides them, Alyssa contacts Cole when the 3 Mut-Orgs return.  As all 7 rangers confront them, they are all morph instantly in cool effects....before getting their asses handed to them again but even worse than before.  The action is phenomenal and so well done as each Mut-Org and ranger uses different tactics against each other.  While Cole, Wes and Eric use their specific blasters, the Mut-Orgs use everything from boulders, mid-air attacks, etc. to truly beat the crap out of them as even 7 rangers isn't enough to even scratch them.  Jesus! O_o  After Wes is badly injured and demorphs, he gets saved by the mysterious figure in a hood and cloak who was following the Mut-Orgs earlier!  Jesus, if that you again Andros.....-_-....  Omg!!! It's Jen....and holy crap, what in the name of dominatrix wear is THAT!? O_O  I'm sure the censors enjoyed that one given this is a kid's show and let that slide! But joking aside, Jen looks badass! Not to mention the sequence that follows....HOLY HELL THAT WAS AWESOME!!! :) As Jen picks Wes up and retreats with the rest of the injured rangers, the 3 Mut-Orgs try to blast them but they ultimately get away...for now.  The episode ends with 3 Mut-Orgs finding what they were tracking as they enter the Nexus and bow down to the true Master to Master Org's utter delight! :)

Final Morph: A+
