Season 20, Episode 18: The Human Condition
"The Human Condition"
Episode 18
Air Date: November 16th, 2013
Seriously....what is the point of this season??? What is the overarching theme here??? What story is there??? Cause even Samurai had a point with the whole discipline, chivalrous culture that came with being a Samurai and what not! Not to mention, deception, deals with the devil, heartbreak, love lost, losing your freakin' humanity even!! O_o But Megaforce is just a series of fight scenes, after fight scenes, after fight scenes, after fight scenes, after FIGHT SCENES with absolutely nothing holding it together. These villains are more empty and meaningless than ANYTHING we've seen and in between said numerous fight scenes with no context.....the rangers just.....do stuff....they just....hang out or....do stuff. o_o No relatives? No goals of any kind? No building on relationships? No character arcs that need to be built on??? The actors are just there and seemingly are only needed for ADR when the rangers won't stop talking during the fight scenes! "We'll never give up!" "Humanity will always win!" "The human spirit can NEVER be defeated!" Mother of...even the MMPR rangers knew when to be preachy and when to just shut the hell up during a fight. But NOT this era of the show, expositions, puns, punchlines of unfunny proportions!!! -_-
So Admiral Malcore, if you even care to remember at this point -_-, has returned from his hibernation/containment and has grown so powerful that he dismisses Vrak immediately after his release and decides to go after the rangers himself. More than ANY other episode this season, the rangers' first and final battle with Malcore, is just a series of repetitive, endless fight scenes with them getting their a$$es handed to them but getting up over and over with proclamations of "humanity overcoming " this! and "You can never break our spirit" that! -_- It's like the writers just through in a bunch of overused dialogue in this episode in between the various fight scenes they have from Goseiger and just.....here's another episode! I honestly just don't get how ANY could find this entertaining with this show not even having characters you can invest in or a story to follow. This is all meaningless and for all this beatdown the rangers go through, they eventually manage to destroy Malcore with ALL their zords combined (SEE! -_-) and the battle amounting to what exactly??? O_O
Meanwhile, Robo Knight is side tracked throughout the entire episode because the writers want to have him exploring what it means to be human. Yes, scaring people as he goes to the library, asking rangers random questions like "What is love?" and even getting a young boy to teach him about hip hop.......I just......O_O What is the point??? This is all just to lead to some punchline by the end of the episode where the rangers realize they didn't need Robo Knight as well as him rapping for them because that's so hilarious and what he learned about humans. Oh boy....where do I even......I just what is this season??? O_O
