Season 20, Episode 6: Harmony and Dizchord
"Harmony and Dizchord"
Episode 6
Air Date: March 9th, 2013
Yeah, so....this episode happened.....I wish I can say something of relevance happened or maybe the plot made sense enough to entertain me....but a las......it was a whole lotta nothing. -_- So...this is as basic as an episode of Power Rangers gets and I'm talking more basic than an early Season 1 episode. At least then the show was so new and NEVER had been done before but at least there was a moral to the story and the conclusion of the episode made sense for how the rangers came up with saving the day. Here......I don't even know what to really talk about. Troy discovers Emma has a beautiful singing voice and uses it to help them stop a monster...but the way it's done make almost no sense, even in the context of this campy universe that Power Rangers is in. -_- So Emma's beautiful voice can apparently make flowers grow from trees and reach across the freakin' world without being amplified or anything. Ummmm...what??? Since when??? Is she some lost Disney Princess??? I thought that era of the show was over!?!?? -_- Too make matters worse, Troy and Emma seem to be so deeply effected by the monster's music aka Dischord after their first battle with them that they can't stand the noise around them.
Emma has to go back to the forest and be amongst the trees while Troy goes off to the docks for some peace and quite. Yet the other rangers are perfectly fine??? O_o It would make sense if they built a story around Troy and Emma for an episode but nope, we just get some random scene of him discovering she can sing and learning about how her mother use to sing for her outside and be among nature. That's it! No real relevance to the plot or explanation how she can make the trees and ground suddenly, spontaneously create flowers with sole power of her voice!??? -_- It's just random and feels like a story that was put together in a mere couple of minutes before being written. It feels so vapid and empty; like the writers really aren't even trying and just throw whatever they feel like at the cast and crew to produce. Ewwww, the kids deserve more than that and a show that can get them excited...not scratching their heads. Don't insult their intelligence with such trite and trivial material.
I guess all I can say in the good is that at least the rangers aren't randomly given new zords for once to finish off a monster because god knows there seems to be no other way of defeating a monster this season then a bunch of new zords being awarded to the team like free for all! -_- Even the resolution is pointless and nothing there to really talk about. I just don't know what else to say??? Vrak was there too and came up with the plan!? Yeah, that's about it. O_o
