Episode 14
Air Date: May 14th, 2008 (Jetix)/May 19th, 2008 (TV)

Part 2 may not be as strong as the first half but it certainly gets the job done on what it initially wanted to do in advancing the rangers in terms of development by showing their current flaws and forcing them on a journey to gain new insight (as well as stronger power ups) to help them in their ongoing fight this season against their big bad.  The episode waits no time as it picks off right where it left off with the rangers being introduced to their new masters, Master Rilla, Master Guin and Master Lope aka the ones who just kicked their collectively a$$es as they prepare them for the next phase of their quest by sending each one of them to face their fears.  Meanwhile, Camille brings RJ to a ring where he is to face and be defeated by Dai Shi in front of the two Overloads but RJ being the noble master, opposes to this and doesn't want to fight Dai Shi....which leads to Dai Shi kicking his all over the ring...literally....THAT MUST HAVE HURT!!!  But honestly, I would have to say where the episode loses me a bit is the rangers' individual fears.  Sure, Lily being afraid of spiders is accurately terrifying, Theo's fear of singing has some hilarious bits thrown in....BUT it's Casey's fear of his closet aka the monster he thought was inside of it as a kid feels so dumb and superfluous.  I find it extremely hard to believe that Casey, who is now a teen and Power Ranger, greatest fear is of a monster in his closet as a child.  It would be one thing if the monster turned out to be real and Casey had to fight the monster but all Casey has to do is open the closet door and BOOM faces his fear! He passed?! O_O Yayyyyy??? Also, Master Guin even tells literally even tho she faced her fear it isn't gone but she can control it now.....huh??? So does that mean Casey will always be afraid of the monster in his closet.  I'm extremely bothered by this because Lily and Theo's fears are natural adult fears/phobia while Casey's fear seems like something he should have grown out of.  You're telling me he never went back in that closet to get his clothes or put his clothes away??? What about other closets??? Is he afraid of them to cause there might be a monster in there??? Bah!!! Unbelievable and we're talking about the same universe where someone like Dax can sustain a stunt double position while being all jittery, frantic and moronic!!! -_-

Anyway, back on the villain side of things, as RJ continues to NOT fight Dai Shi, Dai Shi goes all FINISH HIM on RJ with his spirit power and delivers a very painful attack apparently that forces the villains to reevaluate the fight.  Instead of killing their master, they'll just us him to lure the rangers into a final battle to destroy the once for all.  But RJ isn't looking too good after that attack tho....hmmmmm.....O_O.... Back in spirit world realm place, after the three rangers succeed, their masters tell them they can't leave and must stay for eternity.  Yikes!!! 0_0  The three of course quickly tell them about how they must save their master RJ and that Dai Shi has been released to their shock! Guess news doesn't travel to the spirit realm huh??? So the masters decide to bend the rules and send the three back home, but not before telling them they'll be able to access more power than before.  This leads to the rangers facing off against Dai Shi, who once again, defeats them in battle brutally....until Casey unleashes his "Jungle Master Mode".....which has a claw weapon like the lights of Orion upgrade in Lost Galaxy and jet propulsion (Cause jungle??? O_O) .  Oh Power Rangers! But on a serious note, the Jungle Master Mode is a stunning improvement over the regular suits all things considered.  I love the additional aesthetics on the helmets and suits themselves is nice, especially the beautiful white color.  Maybe these should have been the default suits.....-_-...... Anyway, the three Jungle Master rangers use their new upgrades to destroy the two Shadow Guards (Yeah, they were kind of worthless! -_-)  Mucha do about nothing really, so why were they even introduced??? O_o

After Casey manages to defeat Dai Shi in battle, Camille goes to his injured side while the rangers go rescue RJ.  But they are soon confronted by the Shadow Guards who have grown (cause the monsters just do that again with no method again! -_-), leaving them to summon their new animal spirits: The Gorilla, Penguin and Antelope.....yeah...... As usual, individually the zords look pretty ridiculous, especially with the Penguin on a surf board??? O_O  But the Jungle Master Megazord itself is awesome and kicks some serious a$$ of course as the rangers are easily able to destroy both guards for good this time while Dai Shi and Camille retreat.  But that's not the only things that happened this episode as Fran's curiosity has finally gotten the best of her as she finally goes up to RJ's loft and discovers the three are Power Rangers as the four return to shock of her knowing the truth!! Dun, dun, dun!!! O_O  Hey I'm just glad the writers are really making Fran a true part of this show and not some needless extra, superfluous character. Cool!!! :)  All and All, a very strong two parter that succeeds ultimately in teaching our three heroes a lesson is fear and humility while also advancing the story in overall exciting ways. :)

Final Morph: B+
