Season 17, Episode 19: Three's A Crowd

"Three's A Crowd"
Episode 19
Air Episode: August 8th, 2009

Oh boy, now I know there are those who have expressed already to me how terribly annoying and irritating as all hell.  But honestly, like I said, I find the two characters endearing despite their irrational behavior and incredibly needless deserve to finish each other's sentences.  But luckily, this episode focus on that very flaw of the two of them as they can't seem to NOT be over enthusiastic about saving the day, not to mention wanting to blow things up first and ask questions later.  After Scott and Ziggy handle some thugs at a supermarket (one in particular that Ziggy knows because of Fresno Bob), the two continue to take things to extreme when there doesn't need to be.  Then when Dr. K is trying to test a new megazord configuration with all three megazords so far....but Gem and Gemma proceed to fly the Mach Megazord just as the High Octane Megazord and ValveMax Megazord hilariously bump into each other. To make matters worse, Gem and Gemma make the rangers do it again during a fight between them and a Balloon Bot that might be carrying toxic gases as well as proceeding to attack and destroy with the Mach Megazord.  Extremely frustrated, Scott has a talk with the two about following orders and the twins just can't help but NOT find his talk interesting.  It's obviously it's because Gem and Gemma, while adults, like Dr. K were isolated at a very young age and have become so socially awkward that they don't know how to communicate or function as adults because of their lost childhood.  So that's why I find their behavior, yes it can be head ache inducing at times, more fascinating  and honestly, very heartbreaking.  But like I said, I'll elaborate more on that in my overview. ;)

Anyway, on the villains end of things, Tenaya 7 comes up with a plan to lead the rangers into a trap with a new blaster device she created as well as Generation 3 Textile Bot that will help her destroy the rangers once and for all.  Unfortunately, Gem and Gemma become obviously get too excited and lead the charge outside the doom toward the false disturbance and proceed to get their asses kicked by Venjix's generals, the Grinders and the Textile Bot as well.  Of course, the other rangers are busy trying to make Dr. K understand that the two are out of control, but are forced to save the two when Dr. K realizes the disturbance is a trap.  As the rangers head there to join them, they make it back in time before the Textile Bot can destroy them as the three megazords combine forces.  But unfortunately, the Bot is too powerful for even all three megazords; leaving the rangers to have no choice but to try the new megazord configuration,  Gem and Gemma finally learning their lesson, listen to Scott for once and manage to combine all three megazords to form the SkyRev Megazord which features all 7 rangers finally in a cock pit; which of course is badass! :)

So with the new megazord, the rangers are able to fend off the Bot, even when Venjix decides to join the battle and help the bot despite no ordering the attack.  The rangers soon use their new megazord to destroy the bot but send Venjix packing and flying out of his drone ship as he feels his body isn't strong enough against the rangers.  I actually think it's probably his most badass robot body but whatever you say!  The episode ends with the two finally apologizing for being so reckless and actually try to work with the rangers more instead of on their own.  Overall, the episode does its job well in showcases why Gem and Gemma's flaws as well as them learning and developing as characters so I still don't find that too annoying. Sorry! 0_0  lol
