Season 17, Episode 14: Embodied
"Embodied"
Episode 14
Air Date: June 13th, 2009
There is absolutely nothing more awesome than when a main baddie of the season decides to take matters into his or her own hands and confront the rangers for an epic fight before the final showdown down the line for the finale. Venjix, honestly doesn't HAVE to more than any other villain prove himself by facing the rangers himself. Dude has already conquered 99% of the world with only Corinth left to be conquered. He can just continue sending out his generals, foot soldiers and Attackbots as eventually he will have literally the last city of humanity on its knees. The rangers are the only dense against him and his army; not to mention with his technology continuously getting stronger than the rangers' own tech so....yeah!!! 0_0 I say this because here we have the first confrontation between Venjix and the rangers that leads into one of the most intense fight sequences of the show and it does NOT disappoint. After Venjix reveals his latest Attackbot to his generals, he tells them he is sick of the rangers getting in his way and downloads himself into the body to take control to destroy the rangers with his bare hands!!! Meanwhile, back in the Garage, Summer plans on hypnotizing Dillon to try to get more information about his past. He's reluctant as Doc K chastises him for it and them needing answers just as much as him....while Ziggy just wants to see him being forced to act like a chicken. Oh Ziggy!!! Anyway, Summer takes out Dillon's clock watch with the pretty lullaby and once he grabs it, the hypnotism works as Dillon finds himself in his mind walking through a corridor that ends up where Venjix's main room is in his lair. Suddenly, we get a visual of Dillon in his past as Summer talks him through it and doesn't see much but knows he was protecting someone. He manages to see the word Kenmore before going out of the hypnosis.
As Dillon mentions the word to all of them, Dr. K manages to track said sign of the word to Omega City, a location far beyond the city's limits across the wasteland. Clearly a dangerous mission but one all of the rangers are eager to go with Dillon on. After Scott manages to disobey as well as convince his father to help in their mission despite protocols to protect the city, he gives them an...old RV code named Go-Onger ( Ha!) apparently an old experiment vehicle as one of the rangers can't mention how date it is. Lol But anyway, on their way to the gates of the city, Truman has Colonel Hicks lower all of the shields so the rangers can leave and head there. Unfortunately, this was all apart of Venjix's plan as once they are close to the city, Venjix appears in front of them. They immediately all morph and exit the RV with Venjix himself delivering a hell of a one liner before proceeding to kick all 5 of their asses. Clearly beyond a force to be reckoned with, especially once they all realize they are fighting Venjix himself in one of his latest creations. "You should have stayed in your dome rangers!!!" before striking the hell out of Scott STILL sends chills down my spine. Seriously, Venjix is terrifying!!! o_o I mean sure, Venjix does the whole cliche villain monologuing through all this but he has every right to considering what he's accomplished and how he brutally forces the rangers to demorph. But before Venjix can destroy them with one of his personal drones, the rangers manage to find refugee in a tunnel...for the moment. When trying to figure out what to do next, they realize they must use their one megazord configuration to stop Venjix. By morning, the rangers use the Zenith Megazord to confront Venjix but he immediately blasts the hell out of them...DAMN! O_O But it was only a fake out as the rangers use their individual zords to launch Scott's Eagle zord at Venjix's drone to seemingly destroy him...but he recovers to produce four more drones to add him. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! much? O_O
Suddenly, the rangers are saved by the appearance of two zords: A Falcon Chopper and a Tiger Jet (Just go with it at this point! lol) piloted by two mysterious new rangers??? O_O They chase after Venjix and his drones firing all of them out of the sky...before retreating to get some food....WOW!!! O_O As the rangers are baffled by what just happened. Tenaya 7 and the rest of the generals are wondering who's gonna take over now that Venjix is destroyed. As Tenaya cleverly kicks Crunch and Shifter's asses, Venjix surprisingly returns and brings out a second version of his last body to download into once again. Apparently, Venjix has set a trap for the rangers in Omega City as Tenaya mentions his continuous defeat at the hands of the rangers; concluding the episode. All and All, "Embodied" is action packed and fast paced but has the immediate tension and dread that shows Venjix is not to be underestimated by the rangers. It's made very clear why he has won so far and how if it wasn't for the rangers' unforeseen savors, he could have very well defeated them...wow....o_o
