Season 8, Episode 4: Riding the Edge

Ahhhh yes, the Kesley lesbian episode!!! :) I mean the Kelsey episode where she befriends a random astronaut by randomly saving her dog from getting run over and they form some immediate bound which leads said astronaut to trust he when her life is in danger!!! :) Ok, Nancy isn't a bad character or anything, it's just her relationship with Nancy is just bizarre and forced.  I don't know why the writers didn't play their relationship more natural or have them being friends before or whatever!  It's just really weird that after saving her dog, these two become best buds all of a sudden; with Kelsey talking about her friend when Nancy is about to take off on a shuttle in Mariner Bay. Oh and nice reusing of the Megaranger/In Space footage guys! Meanwhile, the demons are deciding what monster next to send to destroy the rangers and Diabolico orders Jinxer to make a monster that the rangers can't touch.  He creates a monster than Whirline, who can turn into a tornado at random and destroy the rangers as well as the city.

So as the rangers watch the shutle take off, Captain Mitchell orders the rangers to go off and save the city as Whirline attacks with a tornado.  People and things are flying everywhere as the rangers evacuate the area.  The tornado stops as Diabolico appears in the sky to introduce himself to the rangers finally.  Awwww how thoughtful of him.  The ranger then follow the tornado to a harbor where they blast Whirline until he returns to his true form.  He summons some Batlings to attack the rangers as they fight and Carter gets the upper hand of Whirline.  Meanwhile, Nancy is off in space and is heading back to Earth.  As Whirline turns back into a tornado, his attack on the city heavily damages the shuttle as it tries to land.  The rangers manage to summon the Rescue Bird and destroy the Whirline....for the moment. As the shuttle begins free falling to the ground, Captain Mitchell orders the rangers to save it.  Kelsey is of course all worried about her girlfriend while Joel says he can use his Rescue zord to save them.  But when that's out of the question, Kelsey comes up with a plan to save the shuttle while working together with the other rangers.

As Kelsey summons the Rail Rescues, each of the rangers uses their zord for a specific job like Dana using her zord to clearly the freeway while Joel uses his zord to land the shuttle on Kelsey's zord.....ummmm, pretty risky but when Nancy hears that Kelsey is the one in charge of the plan, she's all for it! Awwww, how cute!!! :)  Anyway, Kelsey manages to barely save the shuttle but succeeds.  Carter uses his zord to take the shuttle and place it down safely.  Meanwhile, Jinxer arrives to resurrect Whirline and make him grow with his large trading card.  The pieces of him turn to bats and form a giant Whirline as the rangers form the Lightspeed Megazord to stop him as he rampages through the city.  They manage to finish him off with the Lightspeed Megazord Saber as the episode concludes with Nancy thanking Kelsey and the rangers for saving her.  Awww and then they lived happily ever after!  Overall, it was a pretty decent episode, nothing special really!
