Episode 25
Air Date: August 12th, 2005

While the episode was overall a pretty superb follow-up, I think the only problem I had with it is that Sky was set up as the primary focus of this two parter with Part 1 and while Part 2 starts with Sky finding out the truth about his father's death and him getting to avenge his father's murder during the episode's epic conclusion, I just find it puzzling finds Jack and the Omega Ranger (aka Sam!!!! O_o) as the ones who have to save the day while the other rangers along Sky get captured.  Then it comes down to the Omega Ranger having to save the rest of the team before Sky suddenly becomes the primary anchor for this entire story during these two episodes.  I think the episode would have benefit A LOT better if Sky was centered as the one to make up for letting Mirloc escape by figuring out a way to stop him and then defeating him on his own to avenge his father's death. But nevertheless, Part 2 like I said, proves to be a wonderful episode regardless as Mirloc alone proves to be a spectacular villain.  It's not just his clever ability to travel through reflective surfaces but once again, that sinister, menacing voice that Mike Drew proves the character.  You can't help but fear him and wonder when he will strike next as he captures the rangers two by two.

Oh also, there's some random giant robot that Jack and the Omega Ranger must defeat together.  See, I understand now why the episode played out mostly with Sky not apart of most of the action given the Sentai footage they were using but STILL, the writers could have found a way to have the story focus more on Sky and his internal/external battle with his father's death at the hands of the rangers' current threat.  But anyway, the action with the megazord vs. that angel robot was nice, if not there just for the sake of action and unnecessary overall but it was really cool too see that Mirloc has enough power to trap Jack and the Omegamax Megazord itself into his mirror dimension.  Oh and Jack taking over the Omegamax Megazord was humorous and with we got more that with the Omega Ranger having to go solo on his unicycle to aid him.  Anyway, also we see Grumm manipulating Piggy into choosing a side of between him and SPD.  After being thrown into a torturous abyss apparently, he finally decides to be Grumm's eyes and ears by gaining Intel on SPD in the meantime....oh boy!!! O_O

But honestly, the best part of the episode is when after the rangers are freed by the Omega Ranger, Jack hands Sky his morpher to take down  Mirloc on his own.  It's truly a rare moment in the series that is rather powerful and emotional as we see a ranger getting to fulfill a life long dream of there's by not only a ranger handing them that position but getting to show off how truly heroic they can be when given a more leading responsibility.   It's also the finest moment of this rivalry arc between Jack and Sky as they both find new respect for each other as after Sky defeats Mirloc and captures him for good, Sky reminds Jack that "heroes come in all colors"! Seriously, a very nice quota on an episode.  Not to mention, we even get some development from Cruger for not telling Sky the truth about Mirloc and his father....WOW!!! Again, Part 2 didn't satisfy me as much as the first, but overall, this two parter is another highlight of this season and it's really enjoyable strengths. :)

Final Morph: A
