Season 8, Episode 25: In the Freeze Zone

Hmm, not a bad episode by any means but once again, Olympius is coming closer to destroying the rangers every time he faces off against them compared to the other boring villains this season.  Here, after a holographic simulation where Chad is testing out one of the new thermal blasters created by Ms. Fairweather, Olympius and his new monster, Freezard, attack the rangers and manage to defeat them as Freezard not only captures 4 rangers within him but freezes Ms. Fairweather.  Well, I always knew she was cold hearted but this is just RIDICULOUS!!! LMAO!!! Anyway, Olympius has Freezard hold Carter as he says he needs him for the next phase of his plan but that plan is interrupted by the arrival....sigh....Loki and Vipra.  Of course, Olympius is pissed they're still alive as he and his monster confront them.  But it's a short confrontation as Vipra reintroduces Olympius to Diabolico who literally returns with an explosive entrance.  Diabolico, of course, wants his star power back; becoming the rightful leader of Queen Bansheera's forces but Olympius relents and they both begin fighting.  Meanwhile, Carter realizes this is what Ryan was warning the other rangers about earlier.  He immediately goes to Ms. Fairweather and orders the rest of the crew to help him bring her back to the Aqua Base while Diabolico and Olympius continue to clash.  The fight is pretty decent considering how heavy and balky those monster suits are, so not bad.  But before the interesting infighting can continue, Queen Bansheera stops them and orders all her forces to return to the Skull Cavern.

There, Queen Bansheera is shocked by Diabolico's revival but still puts Olympius in charge to finish off his plan against the rangers.  As Carter looks after Ms. Fairweather at the Aqua Base, he meets with Captain Mitchell outside to check on how she's doing.  Apparently, her temperature is returning to normal when suddenly, the Aqua Base receives a transmission from Olympius.  He wants Carter to come alone to the woods or he'll destroy the other rangers.  Carter, of course, risks going to save his friends but not before Captain Mitchell gives him the thermal blasters to use against him.  As Carter arrives, Olympius orders to Batlings to attack.  After being up Carter a bit, Freezard returns to capture Carter but misses.  Carter immediately scans for the others inside of him as they are literally freezing to death in there.  After freezing his Lightspeed cycle, Carter sacrifices himself to free the others by blasting his thermal blaster at Freezard's tummy while he fires his freeze attack at Carter.  While Carter freezes, the inside of Freezard warms up to the point the rangers are able to escape and help unfreeze Carter.  As Olympius orders Freezard to destroy him, the rest of the team morphs as Carter handles Freezard and gives the rest of them their thermal morphers.  They soon combine all their blasters to destroy him but Jinxer of course makes him grow soon after.

After summoning the Lightspeed Megazord and Max Solarzord, the rangers combine the two to make the Lightspeed Solarzord as Olympius once again uses his star power to blacken the sky.  As lightning strikes the Lightspeed Solarzord multiple times, both megazords separate into their individual forms as Freezard begins to attack both.  Realizing they can't win under these conditions, the rangers send the Max Solarzord back and summon the Omega Megazord to finally finish off Freezard.  Meanwhile, Ryan has entered the tomb and is studying the hieroglyphics to find a way to trap the demons again; even writing all of it in a notebook to find someone who can help him translate it ending the episode.  Oh and Diabolico has some serious words of animosity against Olympius; continuing to fuel an already interesting rivalry against the two powerful demons.  Overall, a really decent episode!  I like where the story is going with the villains for once! Shocking, I know! lol :)
